You will have a face to face consultation with a medical prescriber who will go through your medical history in detail, once the prescriber is satisfied a prescription will be written for you. Once the consultation has taken place the treatment can then be administered. Your cosmetic injector will discuss with you the desired effects and which are of the face/body you would like to be treated. The injections sites will then be prepped for treatment and administered. Your consultation for will be recorded and an aftercare sheet will be given to you.

Side effects may last for 24-48 hrs but will pass:

• Muscle weakness near where the medicine was injected.

• Bruising, bleeding, redness, or swelling where the injection was given.

• Headache, muscle stiffness, neck or back pain

• Fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, flu symptoms, dizziness, drowsiness, tired feeling.

The effects from anti-wrinkle injections depend on person to person, but generally last three to six months. As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are shrinking.

Anti-wrinkle injections blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. It is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines. Wrinkles caused gravity and sleep wrinkles will not respond to anti-wrinkle injections.

When injected appropriately, the results will be seen after the first treatment. Anti-wrinkle injections takes two to four days before the muscle weakening effect takes place. The maximum effect occurs at about 10 to 14 days.

• No rubbing or massaging of the injected area for 4 hours after treatment, including facials, heat treatments, saunas, sunbeds, swimming or steam rooms.

• No strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

• Keep upright for 4 hours, no lying down or tipping to far forward.

• Avoid headwear that is tightly fitted across the forehead.

• Avoid excessive alcohol or medically necessary blood thinning medication before the treatment to prevent bruising.

• Treat the area like an open wound until the injection sites have closed over, 4-6 hrs.
